Hello, my name is

Jay Matthew.

I design & build for the web.

I love to visualize beautiful designs and make them come alive on the web. I learn everyday — personal project or jobs. I am currently
learning more skills to advance myself & create more.

:// About Me

I started my tech career in Abuja, Nigeria while I was studying computer science at Imo state University.
Passion for design
I love design. I love to look at things differently. From typography to color and elements I love to see how best I can arrange them to look clean and properly laid out from a glance.
Passion for web
I first started web design in 2015 and loved it, mostly because now I can design and bring my designs to live using code & that was amazing. The habit of staying awake all night to achieve this became a thing.
Working with WordPress
I have heard of WordPress before but never did anything with it until 2017 during my school IT. I found that I could create both beautiful and functioning website using WordPress and that became a game changer.
Working with XD
I love XD I started using XD in 2017 not consistently but I would use it to create prototypes of webpages and more. Before then I used Adobe illustrator or Photoshop to do this. XD is a dedicated tool for prototypes, and sharing of designs to clients was easy & this was another amazing step towards becoming someone special in tech.

My Work  flow

I enjoy an organized system of working so I created a flow to get the most out of each work.
://01. Preparing
This is the first step for all my projects — Here I mostly ask questions, talk with my clients about what they want, pitch in my input from a professional stand point & work towards an agreement. When this is a success, Only then can I deliver a product that both parties are happy with.
://02. Design
After acquiring a general understanding of what my client needs I can start designing my clients projects.

If it’s a big project I will usually start by wireframing — which is building a skeletal structure of the main design. Then I share this design with my client and when they agreed I continue with the visual design. This is where I will add details and make it come alive.
://03. Development
After step ://02 is accepted by my client I move on to development stage. Here I install Wordpress locally and all the plugins needed for the job.

Immediately, I will start creating the pages and send preview links to my clients to follow the process. This makes it easy to get feedback for me and assures my client that they get the things that they want.
://04. Checks & Balance
When the final design and functions have been added I will send a link to my client to review the work — We will look for errors and edit any necessary details to make the project perfect. After a final check I will put the website live and give it the necessary optimisation for Google indexing.

I often get asked the same questions. I’ve put the most common in this section.
://Q1. Can I edit the website by myself?
Yes! I think this is one of the points that makes me stand out from other people who sell websites. Since I use flexible process it’s very easy to edit almost everything.
://Q2. How much do you charge per website?
I accept projects that starts at (250,000 naira or $570). The final price for the project is based on your needs, design and the functionality. Let me know what you are looking for via inquiry.
://Q3. Who owns the website when you’re done
You. I don’t own anything of the website. If you want I can give you full admin rights, so you can even delete me as you want. You pay for the website, so it’s your property.

The only thing that I want is to put the website in my portfolio if I want to.
://Q4. How long does it take to finish a website?
It depends on the type of website, the number of function and the number of previews that will go in. On average it takes approximately 2-3 months.
